Holy shit, I like pie!

End of week 7….

Down 2.2 lbs this week for a grand total of…….wait for it…..here it comes…..

My weigh in this morning was quite funny because I went to step on the scale..the receptionist is about the hit the button, and I discover my cell phone and keys are in my purse. I’m all..”WAIT DON’T WEIGH ME I DIDN’T SKIP BREAKFAST FOR NOTHING!!!!” Thankfully, she found it as funny as I did and let me weigh myself sans keys and cell phone. I am really excited about this week and hope that it continues to go well. Steve and I are signed up to run a 5k in September for Kaiser Permanente. I don’t think we’ll manage to run the whole thing, but running half of sure would be sweet.

Another neat thing this morning? I’d bought some shorts at Talbots a couple of months back. They were a STEAL (and if you’ve ever shopped at Talbots, you know how hard steals are to come by) Anyway, they were super stupid snug, but I reasoned that instead of, you know, trying to lose the weight I would have them altered and move the button over so they’d fit.

I guess I knew that was a ridiculous idea, cause I never did it. Last week I got a bit of a talking to about the state of my clothes and how big they’re starting to look, so today I decided to bite the bullet and try on the aforementioned Talbots shorts. Not only do they fit, ya’ll, but they have some GIVE. YES!!! I’m throwing away my “fat shorts” this week because now that we’ve begun this journey, there’s no going back. Being healthy feels good…I’m not as tired as I was, my body is starting to resemble something other than an orange, and I’m enjoying life much more. I HAVE to thank my husband for being my constant cheerleader throughout this journey. He always knows how to pick me up, how to kick my ass, and make me celebrate even the tiniest of victories. Thanks, honey for everything you do to inspire me and I am SO incredibly proud of how far you’ve come with me.

It’s hard to believe it’s only been a couple of months since we started this…and already I feel like I’m getting my life back. I’M the one in control now..not the food I eat. For anyone who’s considering this, take heart. It really is something that will change your life for the better, but you have to be willing to work hard and surround yourself with positive, supportive people. I’ve been so blessed to have a great support system with my family and friends and I really think that makes a huge difference in how far you’ll be willing to go.

Ok, enough ramblings. Hope everyone has had a great week. There are a couple of HG recipes I’m gonna post this weekend so be on the lookout!!

I am so happy for you. It really is the best feeling to get into those not so fitting pants/shorts and to have them be a bit big that is so incredible. Way to go. That is exciting about the 5K.
